European Solidarity Corps

NL - Het Europees Solidariteitskorps (ESC) is een project gefinancierd door de EU voor jongeren die zich op verschillende gebieden willen inzetten voor solidariteitsactiviteiten. Deze variëren van het helpen van kansarmen tot humanitaire hulp, maar ook tot het bijdragen aan gezondheids- en milieuacties in de hele EU en daarbuiten.

Sinds onze eerste deelname aan het ESC project (voormalig EVS) in 1999 hebben we al meer dan 80 internationale vrijwilligers mogen ontvangen. Naast een gastorganisatie waarbij we internationale vrijwilligers ontvangen is ons opvangcentrum ook een zendorganisatie die mensen uitstuurt. Belgische jongeren ontdekken hierdoor andere culturen en delen hun opgedane ervaringen met onze werking.

EN - The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is an EU funding program for young people wishing to engage in solidary activities in a variety of areas. These range from helping the disadvantaged to humanitarian aid, as well as contributing to health and environmental actions across the EU and beyond.

Since our first participation in the ESC project (former EVS) in 1999, we have welcomed more than 80 international volunteers. This project is a good opportunity for volunteers to experience how a real shelter works. In addition to being a host organization, our organization is also a sending organization that can send people out. Young Belgian people discover other cultures this way and share their experiences with our centre.

Oil Spill Response

NL - Het Opvangcentrum voor Vogels en Wilde Dieren Oostende is zowel nationaal als internationaal gekend binnen de Oil Spill Response gemeenschap.

EN - Wildlife Rescue Centre Ostend is known both nationally and internationally within the Oil Spill Response community.
